On Dec. 30 at 5:51 a.m., a male suspect conducted a "smash and grab-style" burglary at the Pantry One, 479 West Marlton Pike, according to Evesham police.
The suspect approached the business from South Cropwell Road and fled in the same direction after the burglary. The suspect allegedly stole lottery tickets, tobacco products, and vape products valued at $4,500, police said.
During a follow-up investigation, detectives were able to identify a vehicle that was involved in the crime and obtain additional surveillance video that assisted in identifying two suspects. Based on evidence obtained during the investigation, the actual burglar was identified as Shaheed S. Appleton, 32, and his accomplice was identified as Jennifer R. Clinton, 34, both of Gloucester County, police said.
Appleton of Glassboro was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief, police said.
Clinton of Westville was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary.
Appleton was being held in Salem County Jail.
Clinton was released on her own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
